Independence

No page on Pose & Pause is written, altered or ranked in exchange for payment or free product. That is the rule with no exceptions. Commission is earned after the fact on links a reader chooses to click; it never enters the decision about what to recommend, and it never has.

Where a product that pays us nothing is the better buy, it is recommended over one that would. Several of the cheapest items on this site are recommended above more expensive ones for exactly that reason.

Sourcing standards

• Specifications come from the manufacturer and are labeled as the maker's published figure on the product card, with a link to the brand. We do not measure products and we do not present a maker's claim as a verified fact.
• Factual claims about materials, safety or health carry an outbound source. Every page has a sources list at the bottom with live links.
• Findings from publications that do test are attributed by name. Where someone with a testing operation has reached a conclusion, we cite them and link to them rather than absorbing it.
• Buyer-reported durability is described as what buyers report, never as our finding.
• No prices in prose. Prices change constantly; every buy button links to the current one instead.

What we refuse to publish

Testing claims, credentials, star ratings, reader ratings, testimonials, awards, press mentions and tenure claims. None of those exists for this site, and a page that implies otherwise would be a fabrication rather than a stretch. The full list is on How We Pick.

We also do not publish anything that reads as medical advice. Gear can make a practice more comfortable; it does not treat a condition, and pages that touch pain or injury say so and point you at a clinician.

Review cadence

• Every roundup is reviewed quarterly. Each pick is confirmed as still sold and still available in the US; discontinued picks are replaced, not silently deleted.
• Dated roundups get an annual content review, not just a date change.
• The last-updated date only moves when something actually changed. A date bumped for its own sake is a small lie told to a crawler, and it costs the honest ones their meaning.
• Every page carries a “what changed” log at the bottom, so you can see whether an update was real.

Corrections

Errors are corrected in place with a dated note on the page. We do not quietly edit and move on, and we do not delete a page to make a mistake disappear.

Reported errors are aimed at a fix within seven days. If a correction changes a recommendation rather than a detail, the change is stated at the top of the page as well as in the log.

How these pages are produced

Research, drafting and publishing tools are used in producing this site, as they are at most publishers now. What does not change is accountability: Janet Media Group publishes it, Janet H. chooses the products, and every factual claim is sourced on the page. If something here is wrong, it is ours to fix.

Reader questions

Questions sent through the contact form decide what gets researched next, and answers frequently end up in the FAQ block of the relevant page. If your question was the one that prompted a page, that is a genuinely useful contribution and we would rather have it than not.
